Evaliant Opens Asia Office in Beijing
BEIJING, China (May 10, 2001) –- Evaliant Media Resources LLC, a leading online advertising tracking company based in the United States, marked the opening of its Asia office in Beijing today with a launch event attended by senior industry executives from around the region. Evaliant, formerly known as Leading Web Advertisers (LWA), captures and categorizes ads on web sites, offering subscribers near real-time data on which brands are advertising online, and where, when, and how much they are advertising. Currently, Evaliant's system tracks thousands of advertisers on 300 Web sites in Greater China, including 200 sites in Mainland China and 100 sites in Hong Kong and Taiwan. "We started tracking web sites in Mainland China in August of 2000," said Bev Andal, President of Evaliant. "We recognized that Asia is one of the most exciting Internet markets in the world, with a vibrant, rapidly growing Internet advertising industry. We're proud to be the first to provide ad tracking services in the region." Some 150 executives from Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia and South Korea converged in Beijing to attend Evaliant's launch event. Among the guests was Mr. Liang Qin-jan, the General Secretary of the China Advertising Association, who stated, "We expect Evaliant to provide significant value-added web advertising information for China and the Asia Pacific regions. We believe this will strengthen China's Internet industry." Guest speakers included Evaliant's Asian founding member clients, Ms. Yu Fen Chen, Media Director of Mindshare, Mr. Kervin Zheng, Country Manager (China) of DoubleClick, Mr. James Zhang, Sales Director of Sina, Mr. Paul Egan, and Regional Director of BMCMedia, as well as leaders of key industry associations. According to Sonia X. Y. Li, Senior Vice President, Evaliant Asia Operations, "Evaliant's new Asian ad tracking service will allow the advertising industry to gain valuable insights into this new medium. Ad agencies can see their competitor's online media plans and brand communication strategies. Web sites and their representatives can see their competitors' client lists with daily updates, and use this information to target their optimum prospects." Evaliant was launched in the U.S .in the Fall of 1999. Since then, the Company has experienced tremendous growth in demand for its comprehensive tracking services. Evaliant currently tracks over 5000 web sites around the world, and more than 90,000 brands every day, using a sophisticated, proprietary 'spidering' technology. The Company's rapid growth and long-term plans to expand its capabilities beyond the Web, prompted the decision to adopt a name better suited to its global vision. In April 2001, Leading Web Advertisers became Evaliant Media Resources.
